Jennifer Love Hewitt is back at CBS — and she’s bringing along media superstar Betty White.
Hewitt and White are set to star in the “Hallmark Hall of Fame” movie “The Lost Valentine,” set to air in early 2011 (if the title’s any indication, perhaps in February). Hewitt will also exec produce the movie, which will shoot in Atlanta this fall.
The “Hallmark Hall of Fame” telepic reps a quick return to the Eye for Hewitt, who just wrapped five years on CBS’ “Ghost Whisperer,” which wasn’t picked up this spring for another season.
Based on the novel by James Michael Pratt, “The Lost Valentine” will star Hewitt as a journalist working on a profile of a woman (White) whose husband was declared MIA during WWII.
Darnell Martin (“Their Eyes Were Watching God”) will direct the longform; scribes Ernest Thompson and Jenny Wingfield are adapting for TV. Joining Hewitt as exec producer is Brent Shields; Andy Gottlieb and Barbara Gangi are producers.
Hewitt most recently starred in Lifetime movie “The Client List.” She’s currently shooting an episode of “Law and Order: SVU” and also released her first book, “The Day I Shot Cupid.”
Hewitt’s other credits include ABC movie “The Audrey Hepburn Story,” as well as the Fox drama “Party of Five.”
It’s also been a busy year for White, who stars in TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland,” among dozens of other gigs.

Jennifer Love Hewitt has a new guy, the new Us Weekly reports.
She is seeing actor/director Alex Beh, 27.
“She’s so into him,” a pal tells Us of the actress, 31, who split from her Ghost Whisperer costar Jamie Kennedy, 40, in March after a year of dating.
“It’s relatively new,” adds the source of the pair, who enjoyed a romantic date at Katsuya in L.A.’s Encino July 18. “But they’re really cute together. They were holding hands the whole night!”
Hewitt has dated Carson Daly, John Mayer and Jenny McCarthy’s ex-hubby, John Asher, and was engaged to Scottish actor Ross McCall, 34, in 2007.

After whispering to ghosts and playing a masseuse in a summer TV movie, Jennifer Love Hewitt is taking on the most serious role of her career. “In our third hour, airing September 29, Jennifer will be playing a woman named Vicki who has been raped multiple times and is afraid to leave her house,” Law & Order: SVU executive producer Neal Baer tells me exclusively. “One of the reasons we wanted to do this episode is because it addresses Mariska Hargitay’s passion for rape kits, which can help gather evidence to convict the rapists. But for some reason these kits have been sitting around unopened in cities all over the country.”

Mariska, who has brought attention to the value of rape kits through her Joyful Heart Foundation, will also be shooting scenes in Los Angeles for this same episode. Since this will be the lead in to Law and Order: Los Angeles’ premiere, it seems likely that Mariska’s Olivia will be interacting with the new franchise’s cast to help lead viewers into Dick Wolf’s latest franchise. No comment from Baer on that.
